DELIVER BRISTOL’S KEY GAME CHANGERS: MASS TRANSIT, CARBON NEUTRALITY, BROADMEAD, TEMPLE QUARTER, ST PHILIP’S & BRABAZON Bristol’s key game changers have the potential to redefine the fabric of the city and further elevate its national and international reputation. Public and private sector bodies must work together to ensure these are delivered to the highest standard and within an acceptable timescale so that the city can continue to grow and evolve to meet the needs of the future.

A SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT SOLUTION FOR GREATER BRISTOL

Bristol requires a truly integrated mass transit system involving trams, trains, buses, water and air. Maximising connectivity within the city, as well as nationally and internationally. This will reduce the dependency on cars and enhance the environment for all the city’s citizens and visitors, in particular, the speed and accessibility of the communities located in the south and east of Bristol.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH BOTH THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR, THE LOCAL BUSINESS COMMUNITY, OUR CLIENTS AND OUR COMPETITORS TO POSITION BRISTOL FOR GREAT SUCCESS IN THE COMING YEARS. WE HOPE THAT YOU JOIN US IN SEEING THE OPPORTUNITIES PRESENTED IN THESE ACTIONS.

05

CREATION OF QUALITY AFFORDABLE HOUSING TYPES

The continued growth of Bristol’s population means a requirement of all housing types, including the requirement to retain graduates from the city’s universities. New funding sources should be sought in order to support affordable housing development. Underutilised and surplus public sector assets must be identified to create new opportunities for affordable housing and to solve Bristol’s homelessness issue.
