However, it needs to deliver a greater scale of high quality and varied working environments. Going forward, Bristol must continue to build on its green credentials around the repurposing of buildings, delivering more balanced workspace and living options, to make the offer more attractive and affordable to occupiers and employees. It must provide best in class sustainable amenity heavy workspace as well as a range of affordable and characterful accommodation for a wide range of occupiers including incubator space for new ideas to flourish.

CREATION OF A SINGLE UNITARY AUTHORITY COVERING GREATER BRISTOL

The forming of a unitary authority which takes exclusive control of what is largely considered Greater Bristol under one governing authority, which has the true interests at its core. This would remove the naturally conflicting interests of the various fragmented authorities to provide a single voice for the city with clear policies, a coherent plan and promote the wider city. This would allow a smoother process to address strategic concerns around housing, infrastructure, planning, education, commerce, health and wellbeing.
