Cleaning of Water Jacketed Incubators:

• Move the contents to another equivalent calibrated incubator • Remove the shelves, shelving support panels, and humidity pan from the incubator chamber • Discard water in humidity pan • Completely wipe down all interior chamber surfaces of the incubator with 10% bleach • Rinse with purified water • Wipe with 70% IPA • Reinstall the shelving, support panels, and humidity pan into the chamber • Refill the humidity pan with purified water • Wipe down the frame of the filter only. Do not get the filter media wet or it may compromise the integrity of the filter. • Check water jacket volume and refill as necessary • Return the shelves, support panels, humidity pan, and contents back to the incubator • Document the time and date of cleaning and the cleaning solutions used in the equipment logbook Cleaning of Reach-In Incubators: • Move the contents to another equivalent calibrated incubator • Remove the shelves and shelving support panels from the incubator chamber • Completely wipe down all interior chamber surfaces of the incubator with 10% bleach • Rinse with purified water • Wipe with 70% IPA • Allow the incubator chambers to dry • Completely wipe down the shelves and support panels with 10% bleach • Rinse with purified water • Wipe with 70% IPA has been completed, wipe with 70% IPA. Rinse with purified water. • Return the shelves, support panels, and contents back to the incubator • Document the time and date of cleaning and the cleaning solutions used in the equipment logbook • If needed, place a beaker with ~500mL of purified water in the incubators to increase humidity. Empty and refill the beaker daily to maintain humidity. • For QC Micro incubators, clean the interior chamber/shelves/racks/etc. with Spor-Klenz with a contact time of 10-minutes. Once contact time
