Logistics & Industrial Capital Markets 2024 Outlook Report

The key for 2024 is just to get started. It will become clearer and easier along the way, with social sustainability being a case of learning by doing. Embedding Risk and Resilience With above-average temperatures and below-average rainfall, significant parts of Australia experienced elevated fire risk and major fire events during the past summer. Concurrently, major storms, and heavy rainfall have contributed to flooding events, creating dynamic and unpredictable conditions. Smart investors no longer debate climate politics and are now forced to act around these very real impacts on their business. Now, climate risk assessments are a critical step during any due diligence process, and risk and resilience plans are woven into asset management, leasing, and other operating practices. Technology has made this job far easier, with the data we need now available at the push of a few buttons. What’s needed in 2024 is to take this data and put it to work, via preventative or protective measures for the physical risks, as well as wider corporate changes to mitigate or avoid risk exposure across your investments.
