In total, twenty-seven brands entered the Hungarian retail market in the 2019-2022 period, with fashion brands remaining the most active. The biggest new entrant in 2023 will obviously be Primark, which will open its flagship store of 2,000 square metres in the Arena Mall after lengthy preparations. Retailers are currently limited in their expansion activity, focusing mainly on overcoming the current challenges of high energy prices and indexation. We expect market activity to improve from 2024.
