Bengaluru, the tech capital of India, has been looking to attract data centre investments through a dedicated data centre policy implemented in 2022 Operators such as Web Werks and NTT have launched greenfield facilities while some other developments are in the land acquisition/planning stage IT and BFSI accounts for a large proportion of colo demand at present and this is likely to continue going forward.

Pune is maturing as a data centre location primarily on the back of greater hyperscaler activity MS Azure has a cloud region in Pune and has added availability zones The city’s growth as a tech centre is likely to play an important role in driving data centre demand from the IT sector Going forward, availability of competitively priced land is likely to enable both colo and captive developments
