Delhi NCR, apart from being the home to the country capital (New Delhi), is also the only major data centre cluster in northern India. The market witnessed 18% increase in its operational capacity in the past 12 months to reach 129MW. With both domestic and international operators actively looking for expansions in the region, the under-construction pipeline grew 8% whereas the planned capacity increased 43% within the 12-month period. Operators such as AdaniConneX, Sify, Nxtra, NTT and STT are the major operators having their operational and upcoming facilities in this market. Owing to New Delhi being the capital and home to several government departments and bodies, the market continues to witness steady demand from the government sector. During the latter half of 2024, Sify launched a data centre specially built for India’s Supreme Court whereas TCIL commenced development of the Indian Coast Guard’s data centre—both located in New Delhi. In addition, the market has also been seeing rising demand from clients across banking and financial services, e-commerce, and social media segments. Owing to rapid increase in new supply getting added in the market, the vacancy rate surged to 37%. However, with rising demand, the vacancy rate is expected to decline over the next few quarters. Moreover, Delhi NCR was also listed as one of the eight regions that was added under the Oracle Database@Google Cloud services platform, expected to go live by the end of 2025.

Taiwan, renowned as a global hub for semiconductor manufacturing, is also experiencing steady growth in its data centre market. Taipei has emerged as a key cluster in Taiwan, with its operational capacity already reaching 107 MW. The region’s excellent subsea cable connectivity to mature markets such as Singapore, Japan, and Mainland China has solidified Taipei’s position as a strategic data centre location. Major hyperscale cloud service providers (CSPs), including Microsoft, Google, and Oracle, have already established a presence in Taiwan. In January 2025, AWS launched its three Availability Zones, forming the new “AWS Asia Pacific (Taipei)” region. While the colocation market was historically dominated by local telecom operators like Chunghwa Telecom, recent years have seen international players such as Vantage and BDx operationalizing their data centres in Taipei. Additionally, companies like Keppel, Empyrion, and Epoch Digital are in the process of establishing their presence. Traditionally, colocation data centres in Taiwan have had capacities below 20 MW. However, Keppel recently announced plans to develop an 80MW facility, which will be one of the largest data centres in the Taiwanese market. In August 2025, the Taiwan government imposed restrictions on approving data centres larger than 5MW in areas north of Taoyuan due to power constraints. As Taiwan prepares to shut down its last active nuclear power plant, the government has expressed interest in exploring new nuclear power solutions to meet the energy demands of data centres and chip manufacturing. Furthermore, hydrogen fuel systems are being evaluated as a sustainable and reliable energy source to address the growing needs of AI driven data centres in Taipei. While Taipei continues to see increasing demand for cloud and AI services, the government must align its energy policies with industry requirements to ensure long-term success.
