INNOVATIONS IN LOCK-GATES OPERATION

CURRENT SITUATION

Currently, the lock-gate operation is performed by the Security Officers. Lock-gate operations while crucial, is not a core duty of a Security Officer. Therefore, when a security officer gets activated to operate the lock-gate, there is one less security officer to attend to incidents and perform security duties. We propose to use a hybrid solution of using Security Officers during non peak hours to attend to lockgate operations and a deploying a dedicated Facility Officer during peak periods, i.e. during weekends and public holidays, thereby streamlining the manpower deployment. We have included a sample day and night shift work schedule on the next page to demonstrate the proposed concept. SOLUTION
