The Building Construction Authority of Singapore (BCA) is an agency under the Ministry of National Development, championing the development of an excellent built environment for Singapore. This includes buildings, structures and infrastructure in Singapore. DESCRIPTION C&W Services deploys a specialist team of foreshore engineers and a crew of boatman to conduct inspections of foreshore structures under BCA to ensure the structures are functional and structurally safe. We plan the inspection schedules which includes visual inspection of foreshore structures using unmanned aerial system (UAS or drones), conduct risk assessments and manage services request and fault reporting. The inspection process requires coordination with various government entities such as the Public Utilities Board, Police Coast Guard, National Parks Board and other relevant authorities for application of the necessary permits to carry out the works. A detailed inspection report on the findings, recommendations on repairs or upgrading reconstruction works is submitted to BCA. We co-ordinate and liaise with the appointed professional engineer (PE) of BCA to carry out inspections on the jetty, performing the role of superintending officer to provide administration and management services for submission of the professional engineer’s (PE) inspection report on the foreshore structures and supervision of works. Works includes water jetting, scraping of debris, underwater inspections, construction and refurbishment. Our team is required to facilitate the submission of final tender document, evaluation and recommendation report for acceptance for the appointment of professional engineers and term contractors.
