PREPARING FOR DAY ONE

• Place signage in workspace and common areas promoting improved hygiene practices, emphasizing basic infection prevention measures, including posting hand-washing signs in restrooms and common areas • Consider signage for employees, reminding them on proper disposal of PPE, such as gloves and masks • For more, please visit: https://www.cdc.gov • Verify operation and check for any trouble indicatorsarrange for a FLS systems contractor to check system • System was most likely continuously operational—arrange for FLS systems contractor to check system • Perform fire extinguisher checks required by respective laws or local codes prior to reopening of site • Clean/sanitize all appliances and surfaces within the area, including high touch areas (fixtures, light switches, handles, buttons) • Turn on appliances that were turned off • Supply individually wrapped stirrer and sweeteners • Temporarily increase quantity of daily paper cups and lids • Flow sink to fill P-Trap with water • Plug in and turn on appliances • Turn on supply water to appliances (coffee makers, ice makers, etc.) • Check operation of each appliance • Complete inventory of food, beverage, and other items with vending machine vendor prior to re-opening site • Provide adequate stock of hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, and other such products throughout the breakrooms • Perform Level 1 or 2 cleaning and disinfection of workspace, sanitize all workspace areas, including offices, conference rooms, breakrooms, cafeterias, restrooms, and other areas. See link to Cushman & Wakefield’s recommended cleaning protocols here. • Introduce and maintain advanced cleaning and disinfection standards, such as routine cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch spaces and surfaces per cleaning specifications • Identify and implement process to identify occupied desks each day to help with cleaning efficiency • Where possible, implement a “clean vs. not clean” notification system for desks, conference areas, etc. • Review and prepare plans for client/owner approval regarding changes to cleaning scope or any additional services in response to COVID-19 protection • Review client shifts to optimize janitorial service performed to meet the needs of the client and facility • Review options for self-cleaning technology for high touch surfaces and applications for tablets and screens • Ensure stock of paper and plastic products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) is adequate • Where possible, provide no-touch trash cans, hand soap, alcohol-based hand sanitizer and wipes containing at least 60% alcohol, disinfectants, and disposable towels for employees to clean their work surfaces • Provide additional hand sanitizer, surface disinfectant wipes and tissue available in workspace, cafeterias, break rooms, elevator lobbies, high traffic areas and other common areas • Verify all inventory of required PPE at the time of reopening, recommendation is to maintain a four-week supply • Provide employees with all necessary training on proper use of PPE equipment • Mask distribution for building employees: recommended 1-2 per employee per day • For Cushman & Wakefiled’s recommended supplier list, see here. • Verify list of third-party service providers and notify vendors of reopening • Communicate, in writing, to all third-party service providers the new building and respective tenant space access and operation protocols • Address any service changes/limitations as needed and reinstate suspended services • Disable/enable access if needed • Mail services (if shipment cannot be received securely) • Notify USPS to restart mail service • Notify private couriers to restart deliveries • Verify the operation of makeup and exhaust • Remove and dispose of any spoiled products • Flush toilets to fill P-Trap • Pour water in floor drains
