RIESE & MÜLLER

Bike maker Riese & Müller has twice extended its production facility in Mühltal, south of Frankfurt, Germany, since 2021, citing the fact that although its supply chain is “very global”, over 50% of components for making their bikes come from Europe, although sourcing some goods from China, Taiwan and Vietnam remains critical and “quite hard to match in Europe at present”. The company also says that since 97% of its bikes are sold in Europe, its location “has the advantage of being very centrally positioned in the middle of our largest sales market” as well as offering “the advantage of significantly shorter transport routes and thus increased flexibility, while at the same time greatly reducing transport emissions”.
