Cleaning of Transport containers:

• Visually inspect for any damage prior to cleaning • Clean the interior of the sample transport container with Spor-Klenz or 10% bleach • If using 10% bleach, rinse with purified water • Dry all surfaces • Spray the interior and exterior with 70% IPA • Document in the cleaning logbook An approved hazardous waste contractor will perform the following: • Remove biohazardous waste containers/bags

Monthly Cleaning

QC personnel will perform the following: • Clean incubators

• Clean relative humidity chambers • Clean Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC)

• Perform visual cleanliness inspections on the refrigerators, freezers, incubators, and humidity chambers (see Table 1: Potential Problems to Visually Check For ) • Move contents to another shelf and/or calibrated Quality incubator/relative humidity chamber • Clean the interior chamber/shelves/racks/plates with 10% bleach • Rinse with purified water • Wipe with 70% IPA • For QC Micro incubators, clean the interior chamber/shelves/racks with Spor-Klenz with a contact time of 10-minutes. Once contact time has been completed, wipe with 70% IPA. Rinse with purified water. • If present, empty and clean the humidity pan with 70% IPA and refill with purified water • Dry all surfaces • Allow the equipment to come to the operating temperature range • Return contents to the appropriate location • Document the time and date of cleaning and the cleaning solutions used in the equipment logbook If needed, place a beaker with ~500mL of purified water in the Micro incubators to increase humidity.
