5.7 Surface Specific Disinfection Procedure Step

5.7.1 Ceilings NOTE: Face shields must be used when sanitizing ceilings. DO NOT stand directly under the mop while sanitizing the ceiling. 5.7.1.1 IDENTIFY the disinfection cycle (Level 1, 2, 3, etc.) per Appendices 2 through 4. 5.7.1.2 MOP from the rear of the area to the entrance using the pull and lift technique illustrated in Appendix 5. 5.7.2 Vertical Surfaces 5.7.2.1 IDENTIFY the disinfection cycle (Level 1, 2, 3, etc.) per Appendices 2 through 4. 5.7.2.2 MOP the surfaces from top to bottom starting with the rear wall(s) and door(s) which are located closest to the PAL Out. 5.7.2.3 Stop at the top of the cove and AVOID letting the mop head touch the floor. 5.7.2.4 DETERMINE if the door opens into the room being disinfected and proceed as follows: IF… THEN…. Opens into the room being disinfected • Open the door and wipe the door edges, door frame and handles (side and top) with the appropriate disinfectant. • Let the door close and then proceed to mop the door surface in the room being disinfected.
