Over the years, the development of public housing towns by the Housing & Development Board (HDB) provides Singaporeans with quality homes and living environment. Since 1989, Town Councils were formed to empower local elected Members of Parliament and residents to manage their own public housing towns, developing a unique character and identity for each town.
